ER for Crab idea

Short Version: If you can complete every event (100%) up to the day of the Crab (for that month), you earn ER for the crab for that month.

Seems like a fun challenge! But it's only for higher levels? Lower and medium level players won't be able to complete al the events 100% (especially the latest Hammerman Strikes Back stages and War Factory).

In game challenges would be a great idea but we have to accept that endless reserves (sorry instant training) is now what keeps this game financially viable. Anything that impacts that is very unlikely to fly.

But challenges in general sound like a winner to me, have to think of some...

Getting to try out Instant Training for a few days is like a trial period. If you experience it firsthand and see how well it works you're more inclined to purchase it later. So it could very well be a sales boost for SC.

I would think ER is a big money maker for SC during crab (I bought it!) so cannot see them ever making it something you could get for free.

Was and still am trying to think of challenges when it hit me, we already have challenges in the achievements section, just they are pretty basic and the rewards suck.
Develop the achievements, even have secret achievements but instead of diamonds for each successful stage completed you get a day of endless reserves.
That way anyone of any level can get a sample of endless reserves without being a huge cost to supercell.


Edit, this might fit in well with the micro transactions zmot was talking about on his latest video.

Ok, after considering the replies I think I have a slight alternative that could work for all, increase daily play, and lower the amount of money not gained on the free ERs.


A reward system which grants benefits at the time of the crab (resources, prototype parts, power stones, hero tokens and trader tickets, etc). The more you complete, the more and better you get (pretty simple). The catch is if you do each event PERFECTLY (solo gear heart factory, only use 6 attacks on hammerman's IG, and never fail a Dr T/HSB event) then you get the temporary ER as an additional bonus (if you already have ER, you get something else). It is a pretty high bar, but well worth it and for a max player can be practical.

Hmmm..

I think giving nonsubscribers a taste of ER could be a shrewd move. Almost everyone who tries it says it's a game changer and there's no going back. It could actually increase subscriptions. I'm not sure if tying it to the Mega Crab would be the best way though. They could just throw it out there on any given weekend or 3-day trial period and have the same effect. They'll see how great it is and then have to subscribe to get that advantage on crabs. On the other hand I've also heard the suggestion of offering a 3-day temporary ER subscription just for crabs for $3-5, which might be a good idea too. Same idea. They get a taste of that and how can they not have it for the rest of the month? Plodding without it for 27 days would suck. Might convert extra people, boost subscriptions.

Separately I also like the idea of implementing various types of in-game challenges. Those types of things will add extra layers and interest to the game. We might see something along those lines in the next update maybe.

I'm wondering, why give extra resource benefits during the crab right when they're the least attractive? Everyone is already swimming in extra resources of all types during a crab unless they're very low levels and can't really push yet. Independently I like all the different ideas but I think more consideration should be given to how or whether to tie them all together.
