Ok, after considering the replies I think I have a slight alternative that could work for all, increase daily play, and lower the amount of money not gained on the free ERs.
A reward system which grants benefits at the time of the crab (resources, prototype parts, power stones, hero tokens and trader tickets, etc). The more you complete, the more and better you get (pretty simple). The catch is if you do each event PERFECTLY (solo gear heart factory, only use 6 attacks on hammerman's IG, and never fail a Dr T/HSB event) then you get the temporary ER as an additional bonus (if you already have ER, you get something else). It is a pretty high bar, but well worth it and for a max player can be practical.
