Warships whadda ya think?

Well that is a day of warships done, how was it?


I found it very very tough to start with. Almost rank 14 now which is/was just in top 50 local.
I like it though 👍🙂

Level 13 for me, so close to 14 but it's just back and forth at the mo
But loving it honesly - dunno if the novelty will wear off and I have so much work to do that I'm neglecting
I guess in the days to come I will do a map clear then play warships, instead of spending the whole day just playing warships

Adds nothing new to the game..... only difference is :timed based" fighting......
Been there done that.....    does not add anything to the main base/game strategy .......

Yeah, I noticed that up to level 10 you move forward with every win but do not drop back when you lose.  At level 10 (or maybe 11) you start getting bumped back with every loss and I got stuck.  Could not get to the next chest after an hour of trying.  Frustrating.

I don't know at this point.

I have to actually watch some more video's of what to expect with this new implementation.

I'm uneducated on it's mechanics so I'm going blind right now and don't feel it's fair for me to report on it in this state.

Right now I"m noticing hundreds of hours to retroop some heavies and from what I see it appears the time is increasing and the costs in diamonds is increasing.. Almost like it's going backwards.


Dongorgan nailed it.. This is just a race game now.. So once you simply place your structures in a way to slow your opponent down you can use that to an advantage though I'm sure once players advance they will come to realize that. It will make for some creative thinking on structure placement.  Line em up, slow em down.

Me I’m not happy with the game. There’s nothing really new to this that you don’t get with normal base
I’ve change troops and lost all my zookas and heavies. 413 day to back up to troop level
I’ve also only won a handful of battles probably about 2% outta 100
I was looking forward to it but I think I’ll give this side a miss the amount of diamond I have spent. I just can’t justify

Warships is the Boom Beach equivalent of the CoC Builder Base.  While the game play itself is inherently different, the mechanics are identical.  I have played both and that they share the same DNA is obvious.

I think what is most disheartening is that the BB dev team does not seem to have learned from CoC’ mistakes with the Builder Base.  Many of the same problems and liabilities are present. 

Probably the biggest problem IMO is game progression.  CoC experienced the same thing.  PvP like this needs to have have a rapid progression path IMO. The ramp up from 3 stars to 5 stars to level up was a sudden transition.  The loss of stars for a defeat is a Boom Beach twist if IRC, and not a good one at that IMO.  PvP should be a sprint with people pushing ever higher.  No need to knock people back.  This leads to the second point.

The chest bug is a huge problem.  It has allowed people to build up their warship to a point that they should not be able to achieve at their level.  This really kills progression for those who are not farming the chest bug and is a factor in the overall game progression.

The troop training bug is another huge problem for those who do not have endless reserves that affects progression.  You can’t progress if you can’t play and you can’t play if you don’t have troops.

Finally making the first season three months long for any reason was a really stupid decision that was made through rose colored glasses IMO.  If they do not reset the season once the troop training and chest bugs get fixed they have created an ugly situation.  One whereby players who farmed the chest bug cannot be competed with by people who have not farmed the chest bug.  Three months is a long time for a brand new feature and if they let this ride, player migration to Warships will probably be affected.

 I have not farmed the chest bug.  It is no fun losing match after match after match.  It is no fun losing to player with 5 Boom Cannons, 3 RLs, 2 SLs, and much more powerful troops.  My base gets destroyed in under 30 seconds by the farmers.  I can not consistently compete because there is not a level playing field and I have neither the time or will to sit and exploit the chest bug so that I can compete consistently.

A game is supposed to be fun.  This dev team never ceases to amaze me with their ability to take what is supposed to be fun and challenging and instead make it frustrating and redundant.

I am not going to play warships anymore until there is a season reset.  Be it three months or sooner.  What is the point?

Totally agree with you Capt.  I was looking forward to playing this new feature but all the bugs have made it impossible for me to play. The most frustrating part for me is the loss of progress that I put so much effort into gaining.  I'm just about done with this first season. I hope the make some serious changes going forward.

That's a bug and I found a way around it with another bug.....use dimes to train all your troops....then log off....then log back on 15-20 minutes later....your dimes have regenerated( known bug) and your troops are still there. Also the 400 day thing is gone also. At least it worked for me and I hope this helps

My season says 32 days left so hmmmm.....

To me this feature makes me think of one thing... Clash Royale

Primarily because the essence of it's the same, Battling with another player actively online.


I feel that someone figured it would be a good draw to attract new players.

The one big fear I have now with this new mode is new additions to this game may now be focused on enhancement for this mode only but we will see.



The Heavy retroop time is definitely a bug affecting only the Heavies as the other troop reload times appear proper. I got the feeling they fixed it the other night because all my heavies were loaded all of a sudden when they were previously reporting the 400+ days to retroop.

Hello,

i´m new to this forum and still a "Boom Beach" player. At least at this moment.

The thing is, the update looked promising, but now i am very frustrated and disappointed. The thing is, i always get opponents which have much more turrets as i have, and that´s why i can´´t win any match. Een if i manage to crack the opponents warship i loose anyway because he is faster than me. Well, if the opponent has a lot more turrets it takes longer to defeat them. If my troops aren´t smashed down.

I tried for 2days, and now i´m done with it. I won´t ever try another warship match again, and i am also thinking about quitting "Boom Beach" for good. They took the megacrab from us and gave us this mega-crap instead. Well done.
