Warships Season 7
« on: Jan 31, 2020, 05:59 PM »
Season 7 for Warships is growing on me. While it has been frustrating as heck, it woke me up from my slumber when it comes to playing Boom Beach. I got too used to playing the same way every day. The last two season was get the choppa and then try to win sprints to destroying all engines.

I started this season the same way. Upgrade the gunboat and transports to max. Max rifles and then try to upgrade everything else before adding another engine. Well, that strategy sucked this time. I ended up in endless battles with other players where I won some and lost some but in each battle, no engines were destroyed. So I couldn't earn the upgrade chests. It was then that I realized this season was set up to initially use smokey warriors. You needed to get as fast as you can to the third engine and then to smoke which is right after the third engine on the upgrade tree. Then shocks are the next upgrade after smoke. When I was stuck at 2 engines, I realized I had a bunch of gbe going to waste since only flares were available and artillery was pretty far down the tree.

By blindly sticking to my usual starting routine, I didn't make the analysis that there was a better path. The funny thing is that I really don't like smokey warriors. After getting off to a bad start, I started making progress with smokey warriors. That made me study the upgrade tree closer. While my opponents went for heavies and medics, I took the straightest path to rocket choppa. Now at 3 engines, I'm doing quite well. I'll use the next couple of days to get other troops or defenses on this level but I am currently winning more than losing.

When Season 8 rolls around, I'll take more time to study the upgrade tree before playing.

When Season 8 rolls around I think all of us who upgraded the gunboat at the beginning will pay more attention to where things are located on the tree
Dropping intel and diamonds on almost every attack because all players are my team

I just wish the seasons wouldn't start out in such a rush. After mega crab, they should wait a while before starting warships, automatically collect your warships rewards from earlier ranks, and start with just one chest available. Then you could take your time to figure out your plan. I hate waking up on the first day of warships, having so much to do and no time to do it. Things are so much slower after the first day.

I don't agree with giving out a whole whack of free items/resources at the beginning on top of free items at the end.
Each season should start off with nothing free and you have to work it from the ground up.

As well just like in the regular game... Managing VP and keeping it purposely low, Warships can easily be exploited by purposely loosing to farm extremely easy and when at a satisfactory value of resources easily shoot forward having the ability to easily upgrade all required items.

I disagree that you can easily farm Warships by staying low.
This season especially with the low amounts of unlocks. Assuming you have IT and can reload troops to fill your 3 chests, that will only get you enough keys to open 1 or 2 new items.
