Can someone tell us about the coc buiider base. Is it a daily thing, can you get gems or resources from it.. Whats boring about it?
The CoC Builder Base was a second Base that was added to CoC for live PvP. Your troops and buildings upgraded separately from the troops and buildings on your main base. There was some minor linkage between the main CoC Townhall and the Builder Base. Upgrade options were added for certain buildings on the main TH as your Builder Base upgraded
It has been a LONG time since I have played CoC, so the exact details are vague for me but I seem to recall that it used a different currency and resources. Not 100% sure on that recollection though. You could earn a set amount of awards per day (I think off of either three or six attacks) then you could play as much as you wanted to, but you would get no rewards.
In my opinion, what made it boring was that once the newness wore off it was still CoC. Different currency, new stuff to do but at the end of the day it was still the core game mechanics of CoC: drop your troops and do what you could to help them. The Builder Base was hyped as something new and game changing, in the end a lot of people realized it was merely a repackaging of existing game mechanics with some minor tweaks to the rules of play.
I also recall that MM was an issue as was figuring out game balance. There were some major OP troop combos. Like 100% win combos. It was also common to get people who you could not compete with. Since it was head to head and only the winner got rewards, it caused a bit of a kerfuffle. I seem to recall they got the MM and balance sorted out eventually.
Another issue that people raised was that there was some awkwardness to the Live PvP experience. Getting a match could be slow at times. If you finished quickly (I.e. wiped out) you were locked until the opponent finished their attack. You could watch them but you could not launch another attack until they were done. I don’t know what people expected from Live PvP.
The initial info on the warship sounds very similar to the Builder Base. It would make sense if it were similar as there is shared DNA and brain trust between the games.
