[5:12 PM] PK | Warships 😐: @RickC Someone messed up on the proto cycle and skipped the hotpot again this week. As a matter of fairness, can we get 5 weeks with no shield gens? 1, 2, even 3 weeks with no hotpots I see happening by simple error, but at this point it looks very intentional and many players use hotpots to get Hammerman intel.

Heh, I doubt we will ever see more than 2 weeks of no shield gens but at least we are getting hot pots back next cycle. I am wondering how useful they are though. I have failed stage 7 of Hammerman quite often and had slightly less intel/diamonds from defends but I get the feeling it may not have been worth the Proto parts.
It is a fun and satisfying thing to build though, in fact I would say it is THE most fun and satisfying prototype building in my opinion 🙂

with 2-3 hotpots I almost always beat hammerman using this layout with possible tweaks

place hot pots in 1st two rows, or 4th row if you have 3 or other proto, move defenses around based on hammermans troops and landing order

Yes very similar to my basic Hammerman layout but I only use one hotpot 2 which works most of the time but have another hotpot 2 made just in case. I time it so that one expires on the Monday but a second is available to cross over so I have two for a short time if necessary. I have been failing stage 7 more often since they stopped putting the hotpot in the cycle but I am beginning to think that zero prototypes are the way forward until such time that I put down ice for a push.
Definitely recommend that hook style layout for Hammerman 👍

I've beaten every Hammerman 7 for several months now and have never had more than 1 hot pot. Many times none at all. And no ice, of course. I use a variation on that hook also. There's almost always a way. It's just a matter of persistence and determination and tweaking layouts. Even on the last few super hard ones I managed without a hot pot.. But it did take all my gold last week and I had to use the resource boat. Depending on the tribes and resource/gold situation that may not always be possible but it's worked out so far.

I've also rushed a flotsam, microwavr or laser a few times to help me out then switched right back. I always have excess diamonds to spare and module counts are holding steady or have even risen slightly in spite of maintaining 3 IIIs. Undoubtedly beating all the events and monthly crabs are to thank for that. If I can get by without a hot pot that's useful since they're increasingly ineffective against raiders at 1250-1300vp.

Ooh Hammerman is a tough one today 🙂 and we got the hotpot back 🎉🎉🎉🎉

I tried to do Hammerman with my normal base layout (not Hammerman layout), no ice and no protos. Almost got stage 6, well I killed most of them but really there was more than enough to say it wasn’t really close. If only I had some burnie thing that maybe popped out of the ground when troops got near it...🤪
