RIP Rick... no not like that just new CM incoming
« on: Jan 16, 2020, 10:45 PM »
Yeah Rick is gone, been publicly missing for a while but overall I feel he has presided over a very positive period for boom beach and I give him a big thumbs up 👍 I think it unlikely that he was the only driving force behind these huge changes but he was the CM that released them.

Anyway good job Rick the game is, in my opinion, heading in the right direction. Thanks 🙏

New CM is Nuno Sousa, no info other than what I read on telegram (thanks Spock)

Welcome Nuno 👋

Edit Nuno made an introductory post on discord.

Just to be clear Rick isn’t dead, I was concerned that people might take the RIP to heart which is why I put the “no not like that” bit in the title but upon rereading the entire post it could be interpreted in just the way I was trying to avoid. Late night posting dangers...

Anyway you all probably know I like a play on words. RIP in several gaming communities means Revolving In Place which is synonymous with afk away from keyboard which is a fair description of Ricks recent interactions with the boom beach community.

But obviously a joke that needs explained has failed in its primary purpose.

So the King is dead, long live the king

Edit no the king is not dead 🤪😉

I have to wonder since participating in this product how many CM's that company has gone through.

It's either a transition position or it's a "I'm here and I'm scrambling to gtfo".

So far it would appear that he was one of the better ones to get some more growth into the product.  Bummer to see someone who put more into it leave but all the best to him.

I rated RickC very highly, he was responsive and genuinely seemed to want to improve the game which made it all the more disappointing when, for whatever reason, he scaled back his community interactions to very close to nil.
I wish him well in whatever he is doing now, Boom Beach did very well under his tenure.

From discord

Nuno Sousa
Hello everyone, I hope you are all having a fantastic day!

I wanted to give you time to get used to this new idea, so I could also gather some of your comments so I could do my own comment, and could also introduce myself once most of you were online.

As Rick already said, I’ll be taking control over Boom Beach for the Community Manager role, which I’m really excited and thankful. I want to thank the whole Boom Beach team for the confidence they have on me, and for all the help they provided thus far, and the support they’ll provide for the upcoming times!

I know that at the moment, you might have several questions regarding either me, Rick or even the state of Boom Beach - In the future, those questions will be answered!
What I can say is that I am a Boom Beach lover, I’ve been playing since 2014 (with some pauses in the middle, of course - for some reason I’m not maxed out yet)

In the upcoming times, you’ll get to know me a little bit better, and hopefully, you’ll accept me as your new Community Manager - I’ll be as consistent as possible to keep you guys updated!

Let’s start this year with the right foot and have a better future for Boom Beach! <:arty:296417957666488323>
Thank you all!

I think Tim was the first CM. I learned about Ryan when a Boomer posted a plea in the Supercell Hay Day subforum asking Nick the HD CM to download BB and help out the Boomers. The gesture was a wakeup call for Ryan and Nick posted the only thing he could as a supportive colleague: Ryan is doing a great job as the BB CM.

So great that Ryan managed to persuade Team Brawlstars not to have an official presence in the Supercell forums? Great  job indeed, Ryan. BTW, is he active in the Brawlstars subreddit?

You always knew an update was coming in BB when RLight was the CN. He would always get active on the forum shortly before an update.

This is CM #5 in less than 6 years since the global release. I think RLight was the only one that lasted a full year.

That doesn’t sound so bad. Five in six years but it would be interesting to see how that compares to other supercell games.

Indeed. I assume there has always been a CM in name, but really seems the majority of the time its a ghost position.

Takes the new guys a couple months to realize they can keep collecting the paycheck with zero involvement in the community.

Or, be like Drew and go from some involvement, to zero, to negative, and close down the forum

Noticed a couple of things...

Clash of Clans has a thread on it's official forum of their CM starting back in May of 2017 by the name of Darian

Then I see Darian commented on that forum a week ago so to me it appears CM's for other SC products specifically Clash of Clans have a bit more longevity than CM's for BB.

The CM office for BB probably has a revolving door and a sign saying "here for a good time, not a long time"
