Question about attacking PVP / NPC / Daily events
« on: Jul 16, 2019, 01:56 PM »
I was wondering if the game takes into account troop losses when attacking ANY bases.  For example, is the reward better if you lose less troops?  I know the resources stay the same, I am referring to the diamonds and potential proto parts.  I have done some research on Dr T stages by boosting my PSC during those events.  What I have found there are better purple stones given on the volcano island but I have not seen much of a difference on the tropical island.  The imitation game makes no difference whether i boost my psc or not so that is a bit of a disappointment.

I am mainly wondering about attacking other player bases and the troop loss.  Any info is appreciated.....Thanks!

I wondered the same thing and used to kill npc bases and events with zero losses thinking it would potentially maximise the reward.

It doesn’t unfortunately.

I was on holiday recently where I had an extremely intermittent internet signal. I would lose connection during attacks regularly which was very frustrating. However it meant I was repeatedly killing the exact same base multiple times (4 or 5 times 😡😱). I would get the exact same reward no matter what troops I used or what losses I had.
I can only assume that rewards are fixed at some point, probably time of initial scouting? But then how does resource reward and power stone chance work?

Good thoughts.  @ one time I thought if you destroyed certain buildings on a base it may give you a different award.  (I.E. a better powerstone or a proto piece)  If that were the case it would be better to clear a base as opposed to doing an AZ or Warrior rush.

I really think you are spot on with just the random rewards.....If you watch the ending of battles however there are instances of the crystals popping out of random demolished buildings on a base......

PSC has been exhaustively studied. The conclusion has always been that PSC does exactly what it is supposed to do. Namely, with a 70% PSC chance statue, you will get 70% more stones over time.

When the HQ is destroyed, all the remaining buildings are destroyed as well. There is no difference in rewards between rushing HQ or slowly killing individual buildings.

Seems straightforward enough. Shouldn't it be applied after the point when the reward has been fixed? So the formula would be fixed the reward times any resource multipliers you might have to get the final reward.

From my experiences with PSC the only time I really noticed more consistent results that I would considered satisfactory is when I had four PSC's down and boosted three of them to net around 240% increase.  It seemed like 200-240% was a magic number for starting to see more Shards and Crystals at that time.

They were all max, 75 MP, 30 GD, 30 GD, 30 GD

Only time I boosted them was when doing a lot of attacking to justify boosting them like map clearing with daily event.

Mathematically, boosting a PSC guardian never pays for itself. There are just not enough bases to raid on a full map for the extra 30% to average out.

Here is the definitive research on the topic.

Think the boost needs to equal 300% (IIRC) and that guarantees extra stones on every base as it means the chance of a stone on any base is 100% (but still that could be just a fragment)

Is it worth it, don't think so - I've had plenty of times where I've had 5 crystals (even 6 once I think) on Dr T with no PSC yet someone with boosted PSC's may have only got the 2 crystals

It's an impossibility to know for sure if the boosting of all those PSC's actually has a net effect compared to if you didn't have any PSC's.

TBH I think having more than one maxed PSC MP is a waste of time, it hinders your attacks to take down bases even more so if you need to boost your remaining TD/GBE/TH statues to be able to take down bases - is that not just negating any kind of benefit they may afford?
