CaptNasty Spawn Experiment

If we want to validate CaptNasty’s theory as best we can then we need to record the same data.

Namely your activity log, this is quite onerous.
Every spawn needs to be recorded and time stamped with vp.

For example

Time       Type     Vp
0             Pvp      1101
+1h 21m Npc      1102
+1h 26m Raid.    1101
Etc

You could also record raids on your base to see if you are getting raided less.
And your daily summary.

Yes this is a lot of work but without it we only have impressions and opinions.

We also need controls who do it the same way but clearing everything other than the daily event.

I hope you do record this info, even on paper or a spreadsheet and post it when appropriate ie daily or weekly.

Your call and good luck either way 👍🙂🍀

Will play along next week, got a website I need to get up and running over this weekend
Unfortunately it's Paddy's weekend and I may not be in a fit state to do anything outside of a bar for the next few days.

You want my vp tracking spreadsheet?
1 column addition or a pivot table would give you time stamps.
MinionsWeb is DredPir8Roberts - VP1200|GBE42+17+17+17+17+17|PSC71|TD30+13|TH34 - RetiredTurtle! whatsyerexcuse?
⚡Inigo_Montoya⚡ - VP670|GBE40+17+17+17+16|RR49|PSC74|TD31+13|TH29 - Prepare2die

Minion,

I laid out a protocol to try affect PvP spawn rates.  So we are trying to collect data from people who use that protocol but you data could provide a control data set.

Crow,

At least initially, could we ask for the following info once every 24 hours?
  • Date
  • # of PvP Spawns
  • # of Raids
  • VP at time of report
I think this will make the data collection less burdensome.

Since VP Gain for a given time period can be calculated as follows: (VP Gain == PvP Spawns - Raids), this data set will allow us to see VP performance which is what this is about.  At least at this point I don’t think we need to track data to the individual invasion.

Thoughts?

I’ve been tracking this data with my alt account since January but it’s based off radar 6 archipelago so not relevant. But it does carry an awesome invasion rate with DrT & some event days of 18% pvp & 13% npc chances. Also npcs occasionally give out 2vp but it’s a small number.

I’m averaging 10pvp spawns & 8 raids daily

Hi capt, yes that would be less burdensome but also less able to prove your theory but of course if no one has the time to post data then nothing gets achieved 🙂

My thoughts on the time aspect was to see if clearing twice a day impacted the spawns timing.
I like your theory if you think we can get something out of your data collection to indicate if your theory works then I am all for it 👍

I suggest we look at minionsweb’s spreadsheet as he has a lot of experience in data collection and we may get inspiration from it either for this data collection or future ones.

What does other interested parties think about collection and participation in general?

If we spend a little time sorting this out now then it keeps things clear on going.

Got from 1184 to 1209 today - no strategy, barely played past few days so map was almost full. Yet playing every day could barely make a few extra VP a day - boggles the mind
