why did you change the stars to engine rooms ? Later it is impossible to destroy the engine rooms ... they are decisive % so the players on the smaller lv will be stronger WTF...Getting a chest will be impossible and the players stop use the units LoL ...they will only attack with rockets . I think that devs never played this game that's embarrassing . I was playing just for the chests ... I'm now quitting the warship.

I can see that you are upset... and I’m not sure whether or not it was a good idea before the end of the season... however, it may make an interesting twist on the next tech tree.

For example, this current season, people maxed out because of chest glitches, they have defences at levels they were not expected to. Next season, hopefully, progress will be slower. Rushing may not be an advantage, on the other hand... it may be up to a given # of ER. It will be interesting. I do think that SC Will be monitoring this and how it affects the first part of the season :)

I agree. Maybe make it so u can get 3 win stars for a chest or 8 engines for one. Max of 4 per day. And make them either or. I love warships and this will seriously effect my game play. Attacking at high levels is too hard. Better Balance is needed if the game changes in this direction.

Also... may b a bug. I've lost several times to higher tier players because they had more engines than me.

Agree with LilMiss, people were not supposed to be maxing out their tech tree and we're meant to have to make choices

I'm attacking maxed bases and it is possible to destroy ER's even when they have shields, but still undecided about the change from wins to ER's

Used all my useful troops in 5 attacks and got 5 engines.  Think I'm done till this is sorted or next season. Warships is ruined for me.

I have not prioritised GBE upgrades in the Tech Tree.  I am L21 with 7 ERs.  Since this morning’s update, I have played approx 20 battles and won about half of them.  Unfortunately, I have not killed a single ER.  With 60 GBE only, it is almost impossible.  Looks like I will have to wait till next season now - and not make the same tech tree mistake.
L65 with 1120VP (HQ 22).

I've really enjoyed Warships, but this update completely ruins gameplay for me.
I've reached Level II and for the last couple of levels it has been exceedingly difficult to destroy engine rooms. I might destroy one only every 10th attack. Still, I have a 60% win-ratio, and mainly get chests from destruction-percentage.
I've had to prioritize my upgrades just like everyone else (Tech level 3330), and that has been one of the fun aspects of Warships, but that also means that the number of troops that I've maxed out are limited. I've focused on heavy-zookas and grenadiers-medics. This update completely changes the win-dynamics, and puts an even heavier emphasis on those who go directly for the engine rooms with smoke and play an all-or-nothing game.
If the only means of gaining chests is destroying 8 engine rooms or reaching the next level - then my progress stops here. I usually rely on getting chest from wins to be able to upgrade, progress and get to the next level. But now, I would need to re-prioritize my upgrades: upgrade my smoke, my flare and my warriors to be consistently able to destroy engine bases. But, this would now require for me to actively go down to maybe level 22 to be able to do it consistently, since I need to destroy 8 engine rooms to do it and I wouldn't be able to do that at level II.
That feels very frustrating when I've put in a lot of effort to get a high ranking on my national leaderboard.

I would have preferred if this was done from the start of next season instead of randomly introducing it at the end of the first.
And why has it even been done? To make it harder to climb up the later ranks? Sure, but that is difficult either way because of the matchmaking. Now, it will be much harder for certain players.

After playing Boombeach for years, Warships felt like a breath of fresh air - and quite fun - so I've spent a lot of time with it, trying to find paths through the tech-tree and doing attacks when the timer resets. But apparently, I was doing this the wrong way from the developers' point of view.
I did not abuse any chest-clitch, and I have not maxed out my tech-tree. I've just ended up prioritizing the wrong things now when the chest-mechanics has fundamentally changed.

Yeah gbe should be a priority, even on max bases you can guarantee one ER with just gbe (except shield bases)

Thanks for your input, good to hear from a player that was pushing up to the higher levels on Warships. For myself, I mostly lost interest as I was affected by the timer bugs (just 1 or 2 chests available per day, troop training resetting).

I believe the change from wins to ER destroyed was mainly to help out the majority of players that are in the middle range. The way the system was working, there was a perverse incentive to lose a bunch of matches to derank, so you could face easier opponents. It would not be a healthy situation if all battles were being deliberately lost by 1 player or another.

However, for those at the top, where wins mainly came down to who could destroy a higher % of a base, I can see how the change can be a major wall.

Seems that Warships needs a bit better balance between offense and defense than currently.

It wasn’t just GBE I hadn’t prioritised.  Flare and Smoke were low as well.  Fortunately I persevered (thank goodness for IT) and I managed to become semi-competent at Smokey Zookas and in the process upgrade my flares and smokes.  Now, even with just 68 GBE, I can usually get an ER, sometimes two.

I love it when I get two ERs against the “Barty an ER, land troops, kill 3 defences, finish an ER with arty” brigade lol.

I have no choice than quit with  warships, getting the chests takes too much time... and 3 every day? impossible for working people ... unfortunately, the people in my team are leaving the game, so  I'm  quitting too. thanks for fun and goodbye ;-)
