A few thoughts
« on: Aug 15, 2019, 02:19 PM »
I recently joined Angry Parrots TF and I was wondering if any 1 had some insight into this "Angry Family" structure?  A few things below I have come to find out....

1)  AP is a training TF that is teaching you how to properly use the smooka strategy

2)  What is their reasoning behind NOT boosting when doing ops?  If you have enough PP why not boost to help complete the op?  (I have asked this in Band and gotten a couple responses)  (They say that when you move up in TF's the higher ones REQUIRE boosting during every OP)

3)  Why checking in before hitting is required?  (Also asked in Band) (They like you to check in and state your starting GBE so they can coach you on what/how to hit)

I have enjoyed my time there so far and many good leaders and members but a TF like this is so different the ones I have previously been in.  I was wondering if I could get some different perspectives from people who may be in an Angry TF or were @ one time....

This is not a RANT or anything like that.....just wanting some different view points.....

Thanks

I haven't been in any angry family but it sounds like exactly what you said...its a training TF for which the higher TF have a pool of players to choose from. They probrobly figure if you do well unboosted then you'll do good when you do.
The leaders know the hits and what it takes to get it done. It also trains you to know the hits for your further endeavors and possibly promotion to higher TF within the family. Just my thoughts...good luck

I've also never been in AF, but checking in before hitting is pretty standard at most serious TFs.

Several benefits to letting the team know.
Can save multiple people from boosting to do a hit at the same time.
Gives a chance for teammates to talk through your plan. It can be a big help to have to think through and discuss strategy ahead of time.

Regarding not boosting, presumably that TF is doing low enough OPs that boosting shouldnt be necessary. If the goal is to give players a chance to practice and learn, someone coming in and killing it with boost defeats the purpose.
On lower level Ops, having a bunch of extra GBE to throw more smokes or shocks can hide deficiencies in strategy. Having lower amounts of GBE forces you to consider more carefully how to use it. Thats a very useful skill when you get to the higher Ops where a hit might need 12 smokes to get into position and then 6 shock points.

I would guess the no boosting is to build powder and also learn the hits rather than rely on your boost. As for checking in it’s so they can help you through the hits so you learn them. When you get to higher level ops you’ll have bases that not only can’t be soloed, but require several coordinated hits. This will get you used to doing that.

Thanks for the replies......I have been doing some more research on them and they are a VERY organized community.  They use GBE calculators and have spreadsheets on their tf's.  What is required from each group and descriptions on what each tf has to offer for players.  If it gets too serious I will bow out but for now it's cool to learn from them.  I have to remember that it is JUST a GAME....haha

Ya...some of them take it way to serious. I personally have way to much in real life to stress about to stress over a game. Its supposed to be fun. In my TF we're competitive but its not the end of the world if a hit goes bad or if real life situations get in the way. I enjoy the comrotery and banter umungst my teammates as much as I do the operations.

This is exactly right. GBE can be a crutch. Top players know exactly how much they can get out of theirs. In some cases, I've seen a few people change statue lineups just to complete a hit. there are things that you can do as a 5/5 that you can't do as a 6/4, and vice versa. To be a master operations player, you have to know stuff like that. So they're trying to teach you how to ration your GBE.

Checking in is for your teammates. You don't want multiple people loading troops and boosting for the same hit, especially if no Endless. It's an efficiency thing. And one thing you can say about AF, they're ALL about that.

Been a long time since I played the game but I will give you my experience, I never played with the angry family but did play with many of the/there top players in come wiv a plan,

You don’t want to use boosted statues because it really helps you learn to plan attacks properly, whether it be pvp or ops, you have to plan a good strategy and account for a mis click etc (I.e  have a plan B)

Using unboosted statues really helps you with your timing on certain aspects of the game, there is no fallback if you mess up, you have to think of alternatives on the spot (if it doesn’t coincide with your plan B)

When you finally have the chance to boost, you find it so much easier and strategies occur naturally and when it comes to ops you have a good understanding of how to help the team, there were many times after I had finished my op run (boosted and unboosted) where chat was filled with “wtf is he doing” “that’s stupid” “ wasted attack” etc  and someone immediately followed and killed the op because I had opened a route for them

don’t be thinking these guys are looking for perfection every time cos there not there just looking for a team player Who’s willing to learn
And do what they can to help everyone

Idk what warships has done for tfs so cannot comment on that

Regards
