I made it to stage 70 this time around. Fun crab for sure. Love the attacks up front. I only boosted twice this crab. Got to stage 47 first day and then today made it to stage 69. Had 4 attacks left that I used unboosted and got 70 74% down. Boy the boost makes it easier!

Yeah. Last two attacks were unboosted. Both iffy. Smoky tanks works better with GBE. 🙄

But I used that to get the SG's down on 69. Then I tried a HZ core rush, but first I had to BART out a MG behind the core. Again, all easier with GBE. Failed. First legit fail of the entire Crab. Bit of a sour note, ending that way. I really wanted to get to 70. I've never been this high on a Crab before, so 70 seemed like a kind of a landmark.

Oh well. I can't complain either way. Now to build up my statue supply so I can do it again!

Well done Tmbstallions! If you don't mind me asking what troop combo and statue lineup did you use?

Used mostly all tanks....sprinkled in some rczm....statue went 3 gbe 2 th and 5 td. Until 82 when I dropped a gbe and picked up 6 td statue....if I had it over again I would have rolled 6 td from start..

Humm I went the other way on red guardians with 3th and 2td. Maybe that's why I fell 14 stages short of you. Or it could be a skill issue too....

Well I would say that you need the td more than th...first objective is to not get hit....if you are getting hit by the cannons the extra 30 percent health isn’t doing much...just my opinion.

I had the same lineup, 3-5-2. Wish I had more damage than that, but those were the statues I had ready.

Attacks up front is working ok but I still think they ought to go back to the full allotment of 57 total attacks or something close. I made Stage 63 this time and got a lot of mileage out of Bullit+Tanks (Banks) and those tribe boosts too.

I think 57 with them all up front would be too much. Previously, with the need for sleep, most people probably ended up with effectively about 40 attacks.

For myself, I have yet to use up all 40. I just dont have that amount of time to play on a weekend.
Increasing that by almost 50% would be a much bigger strain on players, with little to no increased enjoyment.

If there are players who don't want to play as much, they're under no obligation to do so. Their problem has now been solved with up front attacks. But there's no justification to punish players who want to play as much as they always have in the process. It's not an either-or. They could accommodate everyone if they don't reduce the attacks.

I do see your point but I see it another way.
We have not lost but gained, not punished but rewarded.

I think the 40 upfront attacks is generous compared to the 57 staged attacks. The top players are still getting into triple figure stages. The number of diamond trophies seem to have increased (just my opinion, no hard stats). It took me 2 cycles of boosts to reach diamond (6 hours of boost) so I am getting more power powder for less effort and expenditure.

I would also suggest that the vast majority of players never got 57 attacks anyway so they have no/less loss. As I said those players that were getting 57 attacks are still reaching the heights but in a much more life friendly way. 57 is just a theoretical number, 40 is hard and fast.

We are not being punished or missing out, there is no real loss only gain.
How far can we get in 40 fails, that’s it. If monthly mega crab was released in this format originally then we would not think twice about it.

If we are wishing for more then that is a good thing but would we still want more if we got 57 fails? I didn’t use all my fails, if the number was higher then where is the tension?

That's a reasonable point of view. I also continue to do well each month. I finish in the same range as before, I'm getting the same trophies, earn as many resources as I did before, spend less powders to do it. By the metrics of it, everything is fine. Where I'm coming from is purely from the point of view of wanting to enjoy attacking the crab as much as possible, my favorite part of the game. My goal was not to play the crab less than before, and here they've taken away 30% of the potential attacking I could've done. The 57 shouldn't overwhelm anyone now that it can be done whenever you want. I still enjoy the crab tremendously but I'm not entirely satisfied that it's become so truncated and transactional that I can literally squeeze in an entire weekend's worth of crab fun into a few hours. It could just be that the ability to do it all in a short time makes the loss of attacks more noticeable. I'm really trying to spread my attacks out over the whole weekend so it won't seem as short.
